All About Balloon Column Stands / Bases

There are several different options when it comes to balloon column stands or stands for your balloons. You can buy them, you can make them or you can repurpose old items to create them. The latter is my favorite.

What Is A Balloon Column Stand Or Balloon Stand

A balloon column stand or balloon stand is a stand to hold balloons in place. Balloon stands can be used for columns, arches, tabletop decor, and more. Balloon stand types range from ones you can buy, DIY, and even items you can repurpose to use as balloon column stands. Within the different types of balloon stands, there are options for every budget.

Balloon Columns Stands You Can Buy

Investing in your balloon business is inevitable if you want to build a profitable business. One way to invest in your balloon business is by using professional tools, such as professional balloon stands. There are several balloon stands on the market in this section, I will cover a few of the different options.

Aeropole System

If you want to make 35′ balloon columns without helium that cross a road, for example, there is no other than the Aeropole System. This is an amazing balloon stand system. The Aeropole system can be used as columns or arches. They even stand up in the wind. Check them out here.

Metal Base Plates

Metal base plates are definitely superior to plastic bases. They are stronger and sturdier than plastic bases. If the Aeropole System is out of your budget and you don’t plan to make extremely large outdoor balloon columns or arches then a metal base just might work for you.

This big balloon base for arches and columns can be found here on Balloons Place.

Repurpose Old Items Or Buy New To Create Balloon Stands

Anyone who knows me, knows I love to repurpose things to give them new life. When using repurposed (or even new) items, it sometimes takes a little bit of messing with to get the connections correct. Personally, I love to check out my local hardware store and find the perfect connection to bring my creations to life. Here are some ideas to get you started.

Lamps

Lamps are perfect for balloon stands. All you have to do is remove the electrical components and wires. Voila, balloon stand.

Flag Poles

Old flag poles can be the perfect column stand. Some flag poles are even made to stake into the ground. Bonus, fewer things to bring with me.

Tent Poles

Tent poles are awesome for using in balloon decorating when you need something to hold its shape but not be completely rigid at the same time. For more details on how this is done, check out my post xxx here.

Umbrella Base

Umbrella bases can be super helpful as weights on the ends of your balloon creations. For more details on how this is done, check out my post xxx here.

Weights

Last but certainly not least, good old fashion weights can be a lifesaver in the balloon industry. These particular ones are plate weights but I have used all sorts of weights while decorating with balloons.
